POWELL (EDMUND), printer and bookseller in London, Blackfriars, 1708–11. In 1708 his name appears in the Term Catalogue as the printer of The Improvement of Human Reason (Hai Ibn Yokdan, translated by Simon Ockley) [T.C. in. 595], and he published other works by the translator. Lists of his publications appeared from time to time in The Female Tatler in 1709. In 1711 he is mentioned in a list of persons receiving subscriptions for a work entitled The Grand Curiosity.
