John Robertson, Sr., printer, and bookseller in Glasgow.
ROBERTSON (JOHN), senior, printer and bookseller in Glasgow (Bushnell p. 348 ?).
In the Salt-Market, 1763. The first part of the edition of The Pilgrim's Progress cited below was printed by John Hall (q.v. above), so that Robertson was probably his successor. This Robertson can hardly be the John Robertson, senior, stationer in Glasgow, 1697–1728 (Bushnell p. 347). He is more likely to be the bookseller and printer, c 1730–(?) (Bushnell p. 348); but possibly he is neither. The Pilgrim's Progress. The Twentieth and First Edition. Part second. Glasgow: Printed by John Robertson, Senior, and sold at his Shop, Saltmercat. M,DCC,LXII (Mclntosh).
