North out of Barbican, in Aldersgate Ward Without (O. and M. 1677–Boyle, 1799).

Strype describes it as mean, with decrepid houses ready to fall (ed. 1720, I. iii. 122).

Site now occupied by New Zealand Avenue (q.v.).

Name derived from the sign.
