1241 “The Spread Eagle in Gracious Street.” [Gracechurch St.] 1636–66 the Spread Eagle stood on the fringe of the great Fire 1666; Spread Eagle Inn Gracechurch Street 1671–1740s; in 1746 on east side of Gracechurch Street, with passage way to Fish market; 1746–1819; Spread Eagle Coffee House & Hotel 1819–24; Inn 1826–1865. See No. 13611.

13611 Spread Eagle“ in Greene Yard” c1648–60s. Green Yards are known in Whitecross-street Cripplegate; Upper East Smithfield, and another, probably this one, “within Leadenhall”. Possibly same as Spread Eagle Gracechurch street, east side, from which inn-yard a passage joined the Fish, Flesh, Hide, and Herb markets of Leadenhall.
