449. George and Blue Boar Coffee House, Holborn. No. 270 High Holborn (1826). This coffee-house adjoined the Blue Boar Inn, described as 'an ancient inn'. Situated on the north side of High Holborn.

Listed by Hatton 1708; in 1732 used by the Bridgnorth and Worcester 1739–45 coaches.
1739–45
Mentioned in the press 1739, and by Rocques 1745, as Blue Boar. George's Coffee-house seems to have come into being during the 1770s or 1780s.

As George and Blue Boar listed in use for masonic 1784 meetings in 1784.
1800
Batty's Copper Coinage (1871) gives six Tokens for this house; one is dated 1800, the others are undated.
1803
The George and Blue Boar Coffee-house is described in 1803 as 'a very convenient place for those who wish to receive intelligence from the West of England, as most of the coaches going and coming from those parts set off from the Inn adjoining'.

In 1822–24 directories, the Proprietor is listed as Ibberson. Kent's Traders Tokens, list an undated Token—No. 236:

     R.—Mail and post coaches to all parts of England.
     E.—Payable at the GEORGE & BLUE BOAR LONDON.

Charles Robottom is listed as Proprietor in 1826-27 directories—George & amp;Blue Boar, No. 270, High Holborn.
1832–53
Masonic lodge meetings held here in 1832, 1834, 1848, and 1853. The house is mentioned by Hare in 'Walks in London' (1878) and
1864
Timbs remarks the house was taken down in 1864 'for the site of the Inns of Court Hotel'; this Hotel was used for masonic meetings from 1867 to 1892.
