Black Bull Alley
[Black Bull Alley, Whitechapel. Later rebuilt as Aldgate Avenue.]
"Black Bull Alley or Yard" (O. and M. 1677–1799). "Bull Inn Yard" (Horwood, 1799–1890). "Bull Yard" (O.S. 1848–51). The Black Bull Inn stood there and gave its name to the yard (Hatton, 1708).
