Nearly all the separate plates illustrating the life of Aesop are signed by Thomas Dudley
The captions to the text engravings are by Aphra Behn. They have either been engraved over the original verses of the 1666 edition, or supplied on separate coppers, the original verses having been cut away from the plates
The French "Life" is a different translation from the 1666 version
The English "Life" is in the same setting as the small-paper copies of the 1666 edition, and probably constitutes a reissue of the same sheets.
