- Probably printed in 1790. Joseph James printed alone at the Chesnut-Street address from 1787 to 1790. In 1790, he became a partner of Benjamin Johnson, who issued an edition of the Fables with these illustrations. John Vallance is listed in the 1791 Philadelphia directory and was probably active in Philadelphia in 1790, before returning to England in 1793.
